H.E. Dr. Eduardo Chiliquinga Mazón, Secretary General of the Andean Parliament, appointed Distinguished Fellow of the Interuniversity Lecture Series for Peace, Development, and Education. The ceremony took place on the 22nd of February at the headquarters of the Andean Parliment in the City of Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Fidel Marquez, surrogate President of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Ecuador and Fellow of the Interuniversity Lecture Series for Peace, Development, and Education, presented the stole, medal, and certificate of appointment to the Secretary General. His Excellency Dr. Eduardo Chiliquinga Mazón has a distinguished track record in the field of education holding several positions of responbility during several decades such as the rank of Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Ecuador. As Secretary General of the Andean Parliament he has placed education as the center of the many policy efforts of this important intergovernmental organization. The Andean network of universities and the Andean Accreditation framework stand out as two important examples. The Interuniversity Lecture Series and the House will support the many education and research projects of the Andean Parliament.
